Xbox 360
The Xbox 360 is Microsoft's second generation video game console. It released one year before Sony's PlayStation 3 on November 22, 2005 in North America, December 2, 2005 in Europe and December 10, 2005 in Japan and kicked off the 7th generation of consoles. In spite of the headstart, early models lacked HDMI connectivity and were extremely prone to hardware failure, eventually coined the "Red Ring of Death" phenomenon or RROD. Its processor was based on the PowerPC architecture and therefore much easier to work with than its competitor, the PlayStation 3, meaning third-party games typically ran better on Microsoft's offering. Notable titles include Gears of War, Bayonetta, the Kinect series, Assassin's Creed, Call of Duty Black Ops & Co, Halo 3 & 4, Red Dead Redemption, Minecraft Xbox 360 Edition, Froza Motorsport 4, Fable II and III or Alan Wake.
