PlayStation 2 (PS2)
The PlayStation 2 (often abbreviated "PS2") is Sony Computer Entertainment's second consumer video game console. Successor to the PlayStation, it released to great fanfare on March 4, 2000 in Japan, October 26, 2000 in North America and on November 24, 2000 in Europe. It was hugely successful and is, at 155 Million units sold, still the highest selling console of all-time. Notable games include Shadow of The Colossus, the Devil May Cry series, the God of War Series and SingStar. It housed many sequels to existing franchises such as for the Grand Theft Auto series, Final Fantasy X as well as Tekken 4, 5 and Tekken Tag Tournament. Gran Turismo 3 and 4 are also landmark titles, continuing the tradition of acting as technical showcases for Sony's consoles.
