NES (Nintendo Entertainment System)
The Nintendo Entertainment System, also called NES, was first released in Japan on 15 July 1983 as the Family Computer (Famicom). It is a third-generation 8-bit hardware designed by Masayuki Uemura to be an affordable home video game system to run contemporary arcade games.
The controller's design was reused from Nintendo's portable Game & Watch hardware, and the western model of the console was redesigned to resemble a video cassette recorder. The NES features several groundbreaking games, including Super Mario Bros. (1985), The Legend of Zelda (1986), Metroid (1986), and Mega Man (1987), all of which have since become major video game franchises. More information: Wikipedia
